Western Visayas cops seize 2.416 kilos of shabu worth P16.3 M in weeklong operation


ILOILO CITY – Police confiscated a total of P16.3 million worth of shabu inside one week across Western Visayas region.

In the data released by the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), the amount represented the value of 2.416 kilos seized during 61 anti-drug operations from March 27 to April 2, 2023.

Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, said the police are boosting the  anti-drug operations as it is the marching order from Brigadier General Leo Francisco, PRO-6 director.

The week-long accomplishment included the seizure of 1.6 kilos of shabu worth P8.1 million in Iloilo City last week.

The anti-drug operations of PRO-6’s Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6), the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), the ICPO-Jaro Police Station also led to the arrest of Estrelita Pineda Bueno, considered as a high-valued drug personality in the entire region.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) had the most number of anti-drug operations with 22 in the period, followed by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) with 13 anti-drug operations.

Eight anti-drug operations were conducted by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), seven by the Iloilo Provincial Police Office, six by the Capiz Police Provincial Office, four by Guimaras Police Provincial Office, and one operation by PRO-6’s RPDEU-6.
