Actor-idol Cha Eun-woo arrives in Korea to attend friend Moonbin’s wake 


The members of K-pop boy band ASTRO are now complete at the wake of idol Moonbin who passed away on April 19 at age 25. 

Cha Eun-woo, a member of ASTRO, arrived in Seoul on the afternoon of April 20 from the US where he had a schedule.

He cut short his US trip when he learned the Moonbin died and immediately flew back to South Korea. 

News video showed Cha Eun-woo arriving at Incheon International Airport and immediately heading to the exit. 



ASTRO debuted in 2016 with Moonbin, Cha Eun-woo, Jinjin, MJ, Rocky and Sanha. 

Moonbin was found dead at about 8:10 p.m. KST on April 19 at his home in Gangnam, Seoul. The police believed that Moonbin committed suicide and they are discussing whether to conduct an autopsy to know the cause of his death. 

His wake is being held at Room No. 30 at the Asan Medical Center funeral hall. 

Sanha and Jinjin immediately went to the wake. MJ, who is fulfilling his military service, took an emergency leave to go to the wake. Rocky, who left ASTRO in February, also went to the wake, Korean media reported. 

Last March 25, Moonbin and Sanha, as ASTRO’s unit, held their “Diffusion” fan concert in Manila at theNew Frontier Theater, which has set up a memorial for Moonbin.  

The Korean entertainment industry and fans are in mourning over Moonbin’s sudden death. 

His funeral will be held at 8 a.m. KST on April 22.
