PRO-7 to conduct separate probe on alleged involvement of Germodo in Teves case

CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) will investigate the supposed involvement of a police captain in the alleged illegal activity of the Teves family in Negros Oriental.

Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of PRO-7 chief Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Abellada Aberin, said the PRO-7 has also instructed Capt. Allen Germodo to cooperate with the Senate’s Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, which is investigating the March 4 killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.

During last Tuesday, April 18, Germodo was mentioned by Siaton Mayor Fritz Diaz as the alleged bagman of Negros Oriental Rep. Arnulfo Teves.

Diaz told the committee chaired by Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa that Germodo was tasked to distribute money to some police officers.

The money supposedly intended for police officers was from  Small Town Lottery and online cockfighting or “e-sabong.”

Germodo is the current officer-in-charge of the Tabuelan Police Station in northern Cebu.

He has denied the accusation that he has ties with Teves. He said he was ready to face the Senate to clear his name.

Pelare said that while Germodo will appear in the Senate investigation, the PRO-7 will investigate allegations that he was involved in illegal activities while he was assigned in Negros Oriental.

Pelare said there is no order yet to relieve Germodo from his post.

“The PRO-7 gave instruction to Capt. Germodo to appear and cooperate with the Senate inquiry as we also conduct our investigation pertaining to the allegation of his involvement in any illegal activity,” said Pelare.
