Boy Abunda on controversial interview with Vanessa Hudgens: 'Walang indication that she was offended'

Boy Abunda finally addressed rumors involving his hosting stint at the media conference for Vanessa Hudgens early this month.

On the recent episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Boy set the record straight, stating: "May mga usap-usapan na na-offend 'di umano si Vanessa because I did 'Fast Talk' at na-upset si Direk Paul Soriano that cause the shortening or yung pag-cut ng mga one-on-one interviews with some members of the media."

He confirmed that a "Fast Talk" segment was not part of the plan. Boy reiterated that he was prompted to include it in the proceedings only upon the encouragement of someone in the crowd.

He also explained it to Vanessa.

"Very quickly, ipinaliwanag ko na po, 'It's rapid-fire questioning, and then you tell me the first thing that comes to mind,' Tinuloy ko na po," he said.

According to him, there was no indication that Vanessa was "offended."

"She was having fun. The vibe was happy," Boy pointed out. "Walang indication that she was offended. And she was not offended. I would know. I've been interviewing people for over 30 years. And I would know if one... Hindi ako namimilit. You know, if you want to say both, if you don't want to answer I don't push lalo na if fast talk questions make someone uncomfortable... I know my boundaries."

Boy noted how after the interview, he received a compliment from Vanessa, who told him: "I love your energy!"

As for rumors that Director Paul Soriano allegedly got "upset," which caused the one-on-one interviews to be shortened, Boy said: "Hindi ko po alam yun."

"If Paul had problems with me — kaya hindi po ako naniniwala that he had an issue with me because he could have called me out. If he was bothered, if he was pissed with 'Fast Talk,' I would've felt it."
