He will be receiving five weeks of basic military training before he is assigned to his own unit.

“We cannot confirm the exact date and place of enlistment,” HYBE told Korean media. It previously did not disclose the date of J-Hope’s enlistment.

J-Hope will be enlisting as an active duty soldier. Last April 1, Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, announced that “J-Hope will fulfill his required time with the military by enlisting in the army. Please note that there will be no official event on the day of his entry.”

“The entrance ceremony is a time to be observed by military personnel and their families only. To prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, fans are advised to refrain from visiting the site. Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts,” it added.

Last April 10, J-Hope posted on the Weverse app, “Everyone, I'm not going tomorrow. I'll be back on V LIVE within this week. ARMY, don't have a hard time. ARMY, I love you.”

On April 8, J-Hope posted new photos on his Instagram account, showing him with short hair.

On the Weverse app on April 8, he said in a video, “Everyone! I got a haircut. I got a trim before going [to the army].”

He is the second member of BTS to enlist in the military after Jin started his military service last Dec. 13.

J-Hope will be discharged from the army on Oct. 17, 2024 or after serving for 18 months.
