In a Facebook post, the PCO, citing Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 32-2023, said taxpayers could file and pay for their 2022 AITR in any authorized agent bank or the nearest BIR Revenue Collection Office without facing penalties for wrong venue filing.

BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. has clarified that the deadline for the filing and payment of the 2022 AITR remains on April 17, 2023.

"We are all partners in nation-building. Timely payment of taxes results into immediate funding of priority government programs," he said.

"There will be no extension," he added.

In addition to the "File and Pay Anywhere" setup, Lumagui said BIR Tax Assistance Centers were also established nationwide.

According to the BIR, for "No Payment Return," taxpayers shall file it electronically through the eBIRForms facility.

Meanwhile, filing of the ITR in the Revenue District Offices shall only be allowed for the following:

  • Senior citizens or persons with disabilities filing their own returns
  • Employees with purely compensation income
  • Employees qualified for substituted filing but opted to file an ITR (for loans, scholarships, foreign travel, etc.)
