LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) is on full alert status for the Holy Week.
The PDRRMO will closely monitor beaches and rivers in the province to ensure the safety and security of people.
It will be in full force in anticipation of the influx of people for the Holy Week and “summer” vacation thereafter.
Water search and rescue teams as well as the personnel and ambulance of the Provincial Health Office will be on standby at beaches on Lingayen Gulf.
Green, yellow, red, and violet flags are placed on the shoreline of Lingayen Gulf to signify if the water is safe, deep, or the underwater current is strong.
The PDRRMO seeks to have zero drowning incidents during the Holy Week as well as the summer vacation with the measures they are implementing.
Also to be closely monitored is the “Pista’y Dayat” (Festival of Sea) here on Labor Day. Pista’y Dayat celebrates Pangasinan’s bountiful sea harvest through a series of fun activities.
