The Chinese Embassy had donated P15 million to assist the project of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

The researchers conducted a site visit in the proposed beneficiary areas in Ubay from March 25 to 26.

“The research group from China is willing to help establish the Bohol Fishing Village using their technology. With this, the P15 million that the Chinese Embassy donated will be put to good use for the benefit of our fishermen,” said Gov. Aris Aumentado.

In a meeting with Provincial Administrator Aster Caberte, the researchers proposed providing technical assistance for beneficiaries on resource management and sustainable aquaculture practices for three coastal barangays in Ubay.

The project aims to improve the standard of living of fishermen by introducing new approaches to fishery management and enhancing technical skills.

“The technical skills will help increase fish production and the environmental protection of marine resources in the project's beneficiary areas,” Aumentado said.

The researchers assured that they are open to more collaborations with the provincial government in marine resources conservation and introducing aquaculture technologies to enhance fishing in Bohol.
