From showing a “Good Morning” towel to performing their hits, Chinese boy band WayV, a unit of Korean boy band NCT, had fun interacting with Pinoys at their first fan meeting in Manila.
WayV, which debuted in 2019, returned to the Philippines for their “2023 WayV Fanmeeting Tour Phantom in Manila” held March 26 at the Araneta Coliseum.

It’s been five months since WayV made their first ever visit to the Philippines through the “I POP U Manila 2022” show held at Araneta Coliseum on Oct. 22.

This time, with Kun, Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang and Ten, WayV held their first ever solo show in Manila that drew thousands of fans.
For the opening, WayV performed the Korean version of “Kick Back,” a song from their 2021 mini-album of the same name,” and “Try My Luck” from their 2022 album “Phantom.”
In the segment “What’s In My Bag?,” Wayv revealed “personal objects or items that we use daily.”
They opened a suitcase to reveal a “pamaypay (hand-held fan),” Polaroid photos during their first visit in Manila including one of Hendery and Yangyang in a restaurant, a bag of banana chips, vitamins, travel brochures of places in the Philippines, “Good Morning” towel, mobile game controller, nail cutter (a gift to Hendery by Yangyang’s mom) and other food.

“Yesterday when we arrived at the hotel, we really felt the welcoming spirit of the Filipino host and staff. As we entered the hotel room, we saw on the bed, there were stacks of snacks and also welcoming pictures so we were touched,” said Hendery.
WayV also danced to Aespa’s “Illusion, H.O.T’s “Candy” and SHINee’s “Sherlock” in a special number, and performed “Broken Love,” “Dream Launch,” “Love Talk,” “Diamonds Only,” “Nectar,” “Phantom” and “Good Life.”
As they ended the fan meeting, WayV said they will be coming back to the Philippines soon.
“Before we came here, we have been through a lot to be here. And I also know you guys too. It is so hard for you guys, right? It’s not easy for you guys to be here. I really appreciate, thank you so much WayZenNi. I missed you guys so much and see you soon again,” said Xiaojun.
Kun, who sprained his ankle during a stage performance before the Philippine show, still performed in Manila and assured everyone that he was okay.
“First of all, I would like to explain something. My leg is okay. So please don’t worry. Like what Xiaojun said, even from last year we really wanted to come to the Philippines. With all our heart, we thank you all. We’ll come back more often. Thank you very much for loving us,” said Kun.
Ten said, “As you know, it’s my first time here in the Philippines. I think you guys made my day. I’ll remember this day for the longest time. I promise I will come back super soon.”
Hendery asked the audience who attended the “I POP U Manila 2022” show last October and he was surprised when the majority of the fans cheered.
“Do you guys remember what did I say last time? I said, ‘Philippines, see you soon.’ We made our promise. So we can do one more promise. We will see [each other] again,” Hendery hinted.
Yangyang said, “Thank you for your support and giving us so much energy and great memories for today. As he [Hendery] said, we will come back soon.”
The “2023 WayV Fanmeeting Tour Phantom in Manila” was presented by DNM Entertainment.
