Boracay Island is one of the two beaches in the country that made it into the list, the other one being El Nido in Palawan which was ranked number four.

The inclusion of Boracay in the WBG list is the latest for the island resort.

Only a week earlier, Boracay was also named as the 5th Best Island Destination by the 2023 DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Award.

Last year, Boracay Island was also included in Time magazine’s 50 World’s Greatest Places and the World’s Best Islands in Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award.

For the Department of Tourism (DOT), the continuous recognition of Boracay is a big help in boosting tourist arrivals and the tourism industry that had been negatively affected by the previous travel restrictions during the first two years of the pandemic.
