“The initiative aims to highlight police presence and to enhance police response on emergency and crime incidents,” said Col. Ronaldo Palomo, IPPO director, during the launching at the headquarters of the IPPO 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company in Sara, Iloilo.

“Police presence has been a time-tested strategy to combat criminality and with a team of Ilonggo motorcops patrolling the stretch of the fifth district of the province, street crimes could be minimized, if not totally prevented,” added Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson.

The Motoranda Squad composed of eight policemen will patrol the province’s 42 towns and component city of Passi. They can also be deployed for emergency response.
