Davao City Rep. Duterte bares achievements


Davao City Rep. Paolo Z. Duterte released on Saturday, March 18, his accomplishments from October 2022 to March 2023 as a member of the House of Representatives on his second term.

Duterte authored 39 House bills, one of which was enacted into law. Others are still pending in different committees in the House and some have been sent and received by the Senate for reading.

Among his House bills are 4696 and 2384, an act protecting senior citizens from violence and providing them opportunities, respectively; 5074, an act providing Filipinos free annual medical checkups; and 6743, an act where parents of children with disability will get a monthly subsidy.

Duterte cited achievements in various projects, such as medical and burial assistance, emergency response, educational aid, Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) with the Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE), and infrastructure.

The lawmaker, a son of former President Duterte, assisted 9,126 patients and 119 senior citizens at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City, 582 cancer patients, and 11,801 patients in private hospitals. He also provided assistance to 1,246 families.

Rep. Duterte helped 1,088 fire victims and 896 flood victims and 11,019 identified beneficiaries under the TUPAD program. His office aided  800 college scholars, 23 postgraduates in medicine, and four postgraduates in law school.

His office provided barangays with transporter ambulance vehicles and turned over nine multi-purpose buildings, one fire station, and two evacuation centers-cum-covered courts.

The lawmaker led the construction of several infrastructures such as drainage systems, roads, revetment, water systems, creeks, bypass roads, and seawalls. His office accommodated 125 solicitations and gave tents, wheelchairs, nebulizers, and
hearing aids.
