The Bureau of Immigration (BI) deported a Japanese woman allegedly wanted by authorities in Tokyo for financial fraud.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Risa Yamada, 26, was deported on Friday, March 17, on board a Japan Airlines flight to Narita following her arrest last week by immigration operatives along Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
She is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Tokyo Summary Court which indicted her for robbery, the BI said.
Reports stated that Yamada conspired with other suspects in defrauding their compatriots with large sum of cash by posing as bank employees or police officers and getting their ATM cards.
Yamada is considered an undocumented alien as her passport was already cancelled by the Japanese government, the BI said.
Her name has been included in the BI’s blacklist, banning her from returning, the BI noted.
