Tagaytay national convention to mark PCAP's 61st anniversary

Hundreds of representatives from the pest control industry in the Philippines are expected to converge in Tagaytay City on March 24 for a national convention aimed at providing participants with updates and other important information needed to improve their knowledge and skills on the business.

With a theme "Overcoming Challenges in the Pest Control Industry”, the convention is sponsored by the Pest Control Association of the Philippines (PCAP) as part of its 61st anniversary celebration.

Expected to grace the event as speakers are Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma; Food and Drug Administration Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate;  Senator Joel Villanueva; and, Fernando Malveda, chairman of the LEADS Group of Companies.

“They will shed light on the significance of pest control in the Philippines and the impact of PCAP's work on the industry,” said PCAP President Ms. Liway Cordel.

“We look forward to welcoming industry professionals and distinguished guests to the convention, where we can learn from each other and continue to build a stronger and more professional pest control industry in the Philippines,” Cordel added.

For his part, Convention Chairman and Immediate Past President Jess Asistin urged all PCAP and Non-PCAP members to attend.

"The convention aims to provide valuable opportunities for PCAP members and guests to learn and improve their skills and knowledge. It will also serve as a platform to raise awareness of the importance of pest control in maintaining a healthy and hygienic environment for all,” he said.

Asistin said those interested can visit the PCAP website at www.pcap.ph. or contact PCAP Secretariat at [email protected].
