PAGSANJAN, Laguna – The municipal government headed by Mayor Cesar Areza and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have joined hands to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) here.

Areza and DTI provincial director Christian Ted Tungohan in a meeting said measures will be implemented to aid MSMEs.

Areza and Tungohan said that the DTI provincial office will be relocated to Barangay Biñan here to ease transactions. The local government will provide a 500-square meter lot with a parking area for clients.

Guided by the DTI, Areza will review the municipal investment code to attract more investors.

A trade fair featuring MSME products in celebration of Bangkero Festival will be held in last week of March.

MSMEs will be asked to secure Barangay Medium Business Enterprises (BMBE) Certificate of Authority to enable them to avail of incentives, including tax exemption.

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PWDO) will establish a pasalubong center inside a mall here.

Areza shared his vision for the economic development of the municipality with the DTI and urged the agency to boost their partnership to realize the goal.
