The Pasay City government showcased its firefighting fleet with a motorcade around the city by members of the Bureau of Fire Protection- Pasay Fire Station on Wednesday, March 1, the start of the Fire Prevention Month.
The motorcade, which carried the theme: “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nagiisa” was held starting at 5:00 a.m.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, through her Chief of Staff Peter Pardo, joined the motorcade and relayed the message of the mayor asking residents to be prepared at all times and to help each other during times of disaster.
Pardo said the city government is always ready to respond to fire incidents and other calamities by providing the victims with folding beds, blankets, hygiene kits, food packs, mineral water, and temporary shelter.
He said Rubiano is also giving financial and burial assistance to the family whose relatives died in the
fire incident.
The mayor also assured the readiness of the city government and “Team Calixto” to help.
The Pasay BFP motorcade started along Roxas Boulevard EDSA Extension in Mall of Asia (MOA)and passed through
Aurora Boulevard in Tramo Extension going to Domestic Road and MIA Road and NAIA Road.
The motorcade thenproceeded to Andrew Avenue in Villamor going to FB Harrison St., passed through Arnaiz Avenue in Libertad and on to Buendia Avenue.
Reaching Buendia Avenue, the motorcade moved to P. Ocampo St. in the boundary of Pasay and Manila , and went straight to Jalandoni with Atang Delarama at the Cultural Center of the Philipppines (CCP) Complex as the final stop.
