Former Pampanga congressman Mikey Arroyo recently underwent angioplasty, a Facebook post revealed on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
"After almost three hours in the operating room for an angioplasty procedure, I am now in the recovery room for the usual 24 hour monitoring protocol," Arroyo wrote.
An angioplasty involves the surgical repair or unblocking of a blood vessel, especially a coronary artery, which supplies blood to the heart.
"Thank you for your prayers. ? I feel very good ? Thank you Lord ?" added Arroyo, a former deputy majority leader.
Arroyo is the son of his successor in the House, Pampanga 2nd district Rep. and former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The elder Arroyo is a senior deputy speaker in the current 19th Congress.
