The Palace, through the Official Gazette Facebook page, said neither the Office of the President nor the Office of the Executive Secretary issued such a memorandum.

"The Office of The President and the Office of the Executive Secretary have never issued such 'Memorandum Circular,'" the post read.

Malacañang advised the public, mainly government workers, to be vigilant against disinformation.

"Government officials and employees are hereby advised to practice precaution and to observe vigilance against these deceptive information," the Facebook post read.

The fake memorandum, titled "Two Days Salary Deduction For the Month of March 2023 From All Government Employees For President Relief Fund For Turkey And Syria," was allegedly signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

The Office of the Executive Secretary has started coordinating with authorities on the fake memorandum circular.
