Serrano, one of Villar Group's top officials, passes away


Benjamarie Therese N. Serrano, one of the most trusted corporate executives of billionaire Manuel B. Villar, has passed away at the age of 61.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Villar’s AllHome Corporation said the low-key Serrano, popularly called Jing, passed away on Sept. 5, 2024. 

She had been the President of AllHome since 2019 and one of the Board Directors of AllDay Marts, Inc. since 2016. Both companies said they have yet to elect her replacement.

Prior to her taking key positions in AllHome and AllDay, Serrano was the president, chief executive officer and board director of giant homebuilder Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc.

As president of Vista Land, she steered the company through its initial public offering in 2007 and held the position until 2011 before transferring to Villar’s investment holding company Fine Properties in a senior executive role.

Serrano was also president and CEO of AllValue Holdings Corporation, the umbrella company for Villar’s various retail ventures which includes AllHome and AllDay since 2019.

She was also the chief operating officer and executive director of Vistamalls, Inc. in 2019 while also holding leadership positions in Masterpiece Asia Properties, Inc., Brittany Corporation as President from 2004 to 2011, and Crown Asia Properties, Inc., as Chief Operating Officer in 2003.

She has held various other positions in the MB Villar Group of Companies since 1991. She was also connected with the AFP Retirement and Separation Benefits System from 1985 to 1988.

Serrano graduated from the University of Philippines with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Economics and from the Asian Institute of Management with a degree of Master of Business Management.
