“With a rising demand for electric and hybrid vehicles, we see great potential in Cebu and the broader Philippine market,” said Carlo Joseph Japson, the chief executive officer of Eres Automotive Inc., the local automotive distributor of Omoda and Jaecoo.
Omoda and Jaecoo are two brands of vehicles from Chery Automotive marketed outside of China.
“Our partnership with Omoda and Jaecoo will allow us to introduce innovative and eco-friendly vehicles to Filipino drivers who are ready to embrace a cleaner, more sustainable way of driving,” added Japson.
Oomoda and Jaecoo’s portfolio includes a range of electric and hybrid vehicles designed to offer superior performance, fuel efficiency, and environmentally friendly features without compromising on style, comfort, or safety.
The group introduced to the local market the Omoda C5 built with Omoda’s “Cross F Futur” design philosophy which features advanced technologies, including a Smart Key with Remote Engine Start and a Voice Control Command System. It is available in three variants, all priced under P1.3 million.
The Omoda E5, the brand’s first fully electric vehicle, offers a WLTP-rated range of 430 kilometers and fast-charging capabilities, allowing it to recharge from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 28 minutes.
The E5 is available in two variants, with the Comfort variant including a complimentary 7kW wall charger. Both variants are priced under P1.7 million.
Meanwhile, the JAECOO EJ6 is a versatile electric SUV with options for RWD and AWD, offering up to 421-kilometer range, fast charging, and a tech-rich cabin featuring adaptive cruise control, wireless charging, and smartphone integration. It includes advanced safety features like multiple airbags, ABS, and blind-spot monitoring, all in a sleek, spacious design suited for various terrains.
After the opening of the Cebu dealership, Japson said there are also plans to expand across the Philippines.
