The Primary Group of Builders (PGB) sealed a partnership with Banyan Group to manage Maayo Hotel under Homm Brand.

“The hospitality industry is very challenging, very competitive but now, Maayo, which is set up with a Cebuano, local taste is now going international, global but thinking local also. So we will have the best of both worlds. We hope and trust that this partnership will elevate the hospitality industry standards and find more exciting things for us,” PGB President and Chairman William Christopher Liu Jr. said during the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA).

Present in the MOA signing on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Maayo Hotel in Mandaue City were PGB Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Admin and Beatrice Anne Liu of the Board of Directors, Banyan Group’s Dharmali Kusumadi, SVP for Design and Business Development, and Project Director Toh Chee Yong.

Liu said that along with PGB’s establishment of the Maayo Leisure Group – encompassing Maayo Hotel, Maayo Argao, Maayo San Remigio, and Circa1900 – was a vision for a broader reach in the international arena.

“Exciting times come to life with the agreement, and through the Banyan Group’s expertise in enhancing guest experiences and operations,” Liu added.

Present in 71 countries, the Homm concept of the Banyan Group aims to provide a sense of home to travelers through facilities and accommodations that evoke comfort and familiarity.

“We create a sense of home, where guests feel like they belong and can be themselves, by providing a sense of comfort and familiarity through reliable services, standardized facilities, and well-designed rooms at relatively affordable prices,” said Kusumadi.

Banyan Group is an independent, global hospitality company with an extensive portfolio that spans nearly 90 hotels and resorts, over 140 spas and galleries, and 20 plus branded residences in over 20 countries.

“Maayo and Banyan shared very aligned values and vision. The hotel has a Cebuano touch and we believe we can add international flavor,” said Kusumadi.
