AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corporation (ALLHC), a unit of Ayala Land Inc., has increased its total cold storage capacity to 20,000 pallet positions with the opening of a new facility in Pampanga.
In a statement, the ALLHC said the company opened its fifth cold storage facility, Artico Mabalacat, in ALLHC’s Pampanga Technopark, as part of its ongoing effort to create a nationwide network of cold chain facilities.
Featuring 4,000 pallet positions across 19 cold rooms, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to -25°C, Artico Mabalacat addresses the growing demand for temperature-controlled facilities in Central Luzon.
Serving industries such as frozen meat, seafood, pharmaceuticals, and industrial goods, the facility will be registered with the Board of Investments (BOI) and key regulatory agencies, including the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI).
“By building this cold storage facility within our very own industrial park development, Pampanga Technopark, we reaffirm our commitment to providing exceptional service and setting new standards in the industrial and real estate logistics industry,” said ALLHC Chief Operating Officer Patrick C. Avila.
Artico Mabalacat is strategically located with easy access via NLEX, SCTEX, and MacArthur Highway, and is close to Clark International Airport and the Subic Bay International Terminal.
According to Ernesto C. Delos Reyes, Jr., Director of the Board of Investments’ One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments, “The facility is a significant addition as it caters to not only to corporate clients but, more importantly, to micro, small and medium enterprises which make up 98 percent of businesses in the country… This new facility will make a substantial contribution to the socioeconomic agenda of the government, particularly concerning food security.”
“These facilities are vital in preserving the quality and safety of perishable goods, ensuring that we can meet the growing demand for products in both local and global markets,” said Merry Jane Espinosa, Regional Fish Inspector, representing Wilfredo M. Cruz, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Region 3.
Further expanding Pampanga Technopark's capabilities, ALLHC recently completed the first phase of ALogis Mabalacat, a 7,700-sqm warehouse. Construction is underway for the second phase, which will add 18,000 sqm of gross leasable area.
These ready-built facilities provide small and medium enterprises with the infrastructure to launch operations immediately, fostering business growth and economic activity in the region.
Franco Alejo L. Madlangbayan, City Administrator, delivering a message from Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo, added, “This will not only enhance our logistics capabilities but also create job opportunities and stimulate further growth in Mabalacat City and our region.”
ALLHC stated, “The strategic integration of Artico Mabalacat and ALogis Mabalacat bolsters the supply chain in Luzon by empowering businesses across various sectors and fostering a more efficient, sustainable distribution network.”
It added, “This initiative positions Pampanga Technopark as a pivotal player in addressing the nation’s increasing demand for streamlined and reliable logistics solutions, significantly contributing to the Philippines’ economic growth.”
