Dela Rosa to PNP officials: Submit courtesy resignation, trust in the process

Submit courtesy resignations and trust in the process, Senator Ronald ‘’Bato’’ dela Rosa advised Philippine National Police (PNP) generals and full colonels.

Citing a big motion picture (Avatar), everything would be alright, dela Rosa said.

Today, Tuesday, January 31, is the deadline for PNP officials to submit their courtesy resignation as asked by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The DILG wanted to cleanse the PNP of officials allegedly linked to the multi-billion-peso illegal drug trade.

According to dela Rosa, himself a former PNP chief, said he has heard rumblings of demoralisation in the PNP officialdom but kept silent least they might be dressed down.

Dela Rosa advised PNP officials just to keep silent and follow orders.

He said he is confident that courtesy resignations of those who have not violated rules or laws in connection with the illegal drug trade would not be accepted.

Asked if Baguio city Mayor Benjamin Magalong, a former high ranking PNP officer, could be trusted, dela Rosa re[lied that ‘’nobody is perfect’’ and advised the PNP officers to pray that the five-man panel created to review the courtesy resignations would be fair.

Magalong is a member of that five-man panel.
