The Philippine National Railways (PNR) will be reopening its Naga-Legazpi route starting on Dec. 27.
For a P15 to P155 fare, a commuter can ride the train from Naga to Legazpi at 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Legazpi to Naga.
The four trips are daily, from Monday to Friday.
The PNR is now doing repeated stimulation runs to determine the running time between the two points, with regular stops at PNR stations in Naga City, Pili, Iriga City in Camarines Sur, Polangui, and Ligao City.
The daily trips will have at least eight flag stops in the municipalities of Baao, Lourdes, Bato, Matacon, Bagtang, Washington Drive, Capantawan, and Oas in Albay. The route is part of the Bicol Commuter Service.
It further stated that passengers who are senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and enrolled students shall be granted a 20 percent discount. PNR reminds passengers to only bring their IDs to use the discount.
The PNR ceased the Naga-Legazpi route in April 2017 due to an absence of rolling stock which was worsened by a succession of typhoons that wrecked railroad lines in Bicol Region.
