Government anti-narcotics operatives arrested on Friday night, Dec. 1, a government employee who is included in the list of high-value targets of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a buy-bust operation in Catbalogan City, Samar.
In a statement, PDEA said Russel Belida, 42, was nabbed at around 8:30 p.m. in Barangay 4 after receiving information of his whereabouts.
Belida, who is employed in a local government units (LGU) is among the top drug personalities operating in the region, based on the information gathered by anti-narcotics operatives.
After receiving information from a tipster, the joint PDEA and the Catbalogan City Police Station operatives immediately conducted the operation that led to the arrest of Belida.
Aside from the from the more or less 33.74 grams of shabu, authorities also confiscated a heat sealed transparent sachet with .54 grams of suspected shabu, two other heat sealed transparent sachets, one having .57 grams of suspected shabu and the other containing .52 grams of suspected shabu and P500 bill.
