Efforts to recover jewelry stolen from Cebu City pawnshop continues

CEBU CITY – The chief of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) assured that efforts to recover jewelry stolen from a pawnshop in the downtown area here continue.

Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog said they are working on some leads that may help them recover the items taken from Oro Sugbo Pawnshop and Jewelry Store.

Dalogdog added that police are pursuing other personalities who could be involved in the November 25 robbery.

Three persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident.

One of the suspects was Jigger Geverola, who was accused of masterminding the robbery.

Geveralo, who passed the recent Bar examinations, was tagged by two other suspects as the one who ordered them to bring the getaway vehicle to a mountain barangay in Argao town, Cebu.

Jordan Ramos Baquiano and Dann Carlo Geverola were arrested aboard the vehicle in a police checkpoint in Sibonga town, Cebu.

Mayor Michael Rama here has warned that he would not hesitate to make “some changes” at the CCPO if the missing jewelry will not be recovered.

Rama, however, admitted that recovering stolen items would not be easy.

“The mayor was correct. Usually during robberies, it is very difficult to recover the stolen items because that’s the first thing that the robbers will secure,” Dalogdog said during the CCPO’s “Isumbong Mo Kay CD, Bantay Mo” program on Friday, December 15.
