People from Lipa City, Batangas, didn't mind the heat last Friday, Dec. 8, as they waited for the motorcade of Piolo Pascual and Janella Salvador, who were promoting their movie "Mallari The Movie," an entry of Mentorque Productions in cooperation with Cleverminds, Inc. in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

Piolo and Janella arrived at Hotel 1925 past noon. They rested before joining a motorcade at 2:30 p.m. A crowd had gathered near the hotel to see the stars.

Also with Piolo and Janella on the float were Mentorque producer John Bryan Diamante and Supervising producer Omar Sortijas who were very happy with the warm welcome of the Batanguenos.

The motorcade was well-organized, causing no traffic as it passed through the streets. However, cars gave way as their passengers took videos and pictures of Piolo and Janella using their cell phones.

In Lipa City, despite the sun, Piolo kept his smile and waved to fans who claimed not to feel the heat due to the spring-like climate.

The motorcade went straight to SM City Lipa for the mall show. Janella's fans showed their support to their idol and Piolo. Among Janella's fan clubs who cheered for Janella in Lipa City were members of JoshNella Official Rizal Chapter, and JaneNella Trendsetter.

As soon as Piolo's name was announced, the screams in the entire activity center of SM Lipa were deafening. In fact, some enthusiastic fans even used a drone camera to capture live footage of the huge crowd waiting for the arrival of the movie's cast. Papa P and Janella were very accommodating because they allowed everyone to take pictures with them.

Other guests in the mall show were Ron Angeles, who even removed his jacket to show off his body, Angelie Sanoy, Audrey Alquiroz, Tommy Alejandrino, and teen stars John Ventura and James Clarence Fajardo, who are also popular among Lipa residents, Ali Abatayo and the hilarious host Inah Evans.

"Mallari: The Movie" is one of 10 official entries of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival. It will be shown beginning Christmas Day. It is directed by Derick Cabrido and written by Enrico C. Santos.

Piolo, Janella, and the rest of the cast of the movie will join the Parade of the Stars on Dec. 16 along Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and ending at Peoples Park in Valenzuela City, as presented by the Metro Manila Development Authority, in charge of the annual festival.
