Unexpected encounters often weave the threads of lifelong friendships. Mayor Marcos Mamay stands at the helm of a unique connection shared with actors and entrepreneurs Alvin Fortuna and Dennis Coronel, seamlessly blending their business acumen, civic responsibilities, and the captivating world of showbiz.

"Before my venture into politics, I was deeply immersed in various business roles—importer, wholesaler, and retailer. Networking with fellow businessmen was instrumental in expanding my business," shared Mayor Mamay.

"One evening, after a meeting with the Actors' Guild of the Philippines and the showbiz industry alliance, we dined at Pandan Asian Cafe in Tomas Morato, a restaurant I hadn't frequented before. Coincidentally, Dennis and Alvin, co-owners of the place, were present," he recalled.

This serendipitous encounter spun a web of personal and professional interactions among the trio. Mayor Mamay's rapport with Dennis blossomed as they both offered guidance in the Actor's Guild of the Philippines (AGP) and embraced roles as active members of the Philippine Eagles.

"Our bond grew stronger as we collaborated on 'Mamay: The Great Man of Nunungan.' Dennis portrayed my political adviser, while Alvin graced the screen as my elder brother; showcasing their incredible acting talent," the Mayor praised.

Their friendship defied geographical barriers; the bond between them extended far beyond distance. "We're an incredibly tight-knit trio. Birthdays, Christmas, or even during shows, we always find time to connect, often sharing moments together," Mayor Mamay emphasized.

However, Mayor Mamay's commitments as the National Vice President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines often required the rescheduling or cancellation of planned trips.

"For instance, our planned Japan trip had to be postponed due to conflicting commitments in China, where I represented the Philippines as a guest speaker focusing on the Marine Economy. Subsequently, my calendar was filled with diplomatic missions, including visits to Abu Dhabi, UAE," Mayor Mamay recounted, also mentioning recent engagements in Australia and London.

"Efficient time management is essential. In our five years of friendship, we've become remarkably close. Balancing family, career, and our friendship remains a priority, harmonizing personal, professional, and political spheres," Mayor Mamay emphasized.

As an elected official, Mayor Mamay acknowledged aspects of his friendship with Alvin and Dennis that he could not disclose fully. Nevertheless, their bond thrives on trust, mutual respect, and an unspoken understanding of each other's commitments.

"As I navigate public service and cherish our friendship, the strength of connections remains unwavering, anchoring us amidst life's diverse responsibilities and adventures," Mayor Mamay concluded.
