The French Embassy in the Philippines launched the 26th French Film Festival last Nov. 25 at the SM Mall of Asia, in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Cinema. This is set to run until Dec. 3, showcasing a selection of around 21 contemporary French feature films.
Unveiled by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Philippines H.E. Marie Fontanel. In her message, she emphasized the importance of exposing Filipino youth to diverse cultures through cinema. The festival serves as a cultural bridge, fostering understanding and appreciation of French culture among Filipinos.
The opening was well attended by movie enthusiasts, VIPs in the Filipino film industry, friends of the embassy, and graced by acclaimed French actress and film director Emmanuelle Béart who flew in for France for the occasion.
