Mechanic nabbed for pointing gun at lady cop

SARIAYA, Quezon â€“ A 43-year-old mechanic was arrested after pointing a gun to a policewoman during a confrontation here on Monday morning, November 27.

Police identified the suspect as Ian, a resident of Barangay Talisay in Tiaong, Quezon.

Victim Police Patrolwoman Mary Ann EscaÃ±o, 31, of the Tiaong Municipal Police Station and resident of Barangay Bula in Tiaong, confronted the suspect after nearly colliding with her vehicle driven by her husband.

However, the suspect pointed a gun during the argument and sped off towards the direction of Sariaya.

The victim informed the police here which conducted a dragnet operation led by Police Lt. German Merle in front of the Sariaya Municipal Police Station in Barangay Santo Cristo.

Suspect, who was driving a red Honda CRV with license plates XME-310, was flagged down and police found a caliber .380 in a plain view inspection near the brake and accelerator of the car.

He failed to present documents for the firearm and was taken into custody by the local police.

Suspect faces a compliant for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
