6 militia bases receive P150,000 aid


BACOLOD CITY – Six patrol bases of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA) recently received P150,000 cash assistance from the local government of Murcia in Negros Occidental.

Mayor Gerry Rojas turned over P25,000 each to Lizares PB, Caliban PB, Pagla-um PB, Pandanon PB, Negros First Ranch PB, and Canlandog PB at the Mayor’s Office on Wednesday, November 22.

These patrol bases are under the operational control of the Army 79th Infantry Battalion (IB) under Lt. Col. Arnel Calaoagan.

The financial support will improve and assist them in their day-to-day operations as they safeguard the community. 

Rojas thanked the CAAs for their unwavering commitment to public service and continuous efforts in maintaining peace and order. 

He said the municipality remains committed to ensuring the well-being of every resident by fostering strong partnership and providing necessary support to local security forces.

“Moving forward, we will continue to seek various opportunities to enhance the resources available to our CAAs and work towards further strengthening our municipality's security," he added.

He emphasized the significance of working hand-in-hand with law enforcement agencies to create a harmonious and secure environment for the community.

Brig. Gen. Orlando Edralin, commander of 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde), in a message, noted that it is through collaborative efforts, such as these, that the local government demonstrates its profound respect for the sacrifices made by the CAAs. 

Also present during the turnover were Police Major Mark Joel Reclamado, Murcia police chief; Romulo Torrecarion Jr., chief of staff of the Mayor’s Office; Randy Gamboa of the Municipal Assessor's Office, and Capt. Mervin Rosal, 303rd IBde civil military operations officer.
