Holiday shopping made more meaningful

The holiday season is right around the corner, meaning a bounty of get-togethers and gift-giving is upon us. All this celebration also calls for the perfect party garbs to cheer the night away. As today’s shoppers aim to put more substance and purpose in their looks, many tend to lean on sustainable and slow fashion. If you’re on the hunt for those pieces, you might want to check out Nirvana Collective.

Offering unique and one-of-a-kind pieces, Nirvana Collective is a second-hand consignment store that came together to re-imagine the ukay-ukay culture in the Philippines. This season, it will be part of the many merchants of Soirée by Retail Lab.

The shopping affair is set to make the holidays more magical and fun with its fashion, food, home, and lifestyle selections. It features over 170 merchants, some of which were founded during the pandemic. Leading the shopping event are Rosanna Aranaz and Claud Baron-Paulino, founders of multi-brand lifestyle store Retail Lab.

“There were so many brands that have been founded in the past three years that we have grown to love and we’re so happy to bring them to you this November for Soirée,” Rosanna said.

“We were so inspired by all the brands that started during the lockdown,” Claud added. “Many of the owners had lost their jobs during the pandemic so they created new ways of earning money by doing what they love like baking and making perfume.”

Apart from the fashions of Nirvana Collective, the Soirée also features multifunctional scarves and other accessories by Pause Lifestyle and timepieces by  Raja Watch Co. Some of the brands that holiday shoppers can look forward to at the Soirée as well are Dreambee Books, which makes personalized children’s books that are wonderful gifts for your little ones this holiday season; The Kind Cookie for delicious chocolate chip cookies, which donates a portion of their earnings to various causes; Paint Polish, a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly nail polish brand which allows clients to create their own nail polish shade; Amara Parfum, which specializes in handcrafted perfumes, and; Casa Juan, which offers beautiful Filipino-inspired tableware.

Soirée is happening on Nov. 24-26 and December 8-10, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Fifth at Rockwell. Access to the venue can be accessed through the elevator in front of Starbucks Reserve of Powerplant Mall.
