ICTSI’s Honduras unit is ‘Great Place to Work’-certified


Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC), the International Container Terminal Services Inc.'s (ICTSI) operating subsidiary in Honduras for the Puerto Cortés port, received the coveted “Great Place to Work®“ certification.

As an established analytics firm, Great Place to Work conducts surveys of over 100 million employees globally and research to determine insights on great workplace practices. It has been able to help the private, public, and civil society sectors in more than 60 countries.

Great Place to Work®’s research indicates that great groups, organizations, agencies, or companies have “great leadership, consistent employee experience, and sustainable financial performance,” along with leaders who “believe in the vision of creating and maintaining a great place to work for all.”

ICTSI said that OPC has been promoting healthy work environments, well-being and training programs for its employees to improve their services to the Honduran people.

OPC has invested around $1.5 million to facilitate over 000 hours of training for more than 3,000 employees.

According to the survey, eight out of 10 OPC employees see the company as a great place to with a rating equal to the average of existing certified companies in Honduras.

The respondents of the survey were asked based on their family, professional career, and previous experiences.

“One of the fundamental pillars on which OPC bases its philosophy of shared value is the well-being and growth of its staff – a scenario in which both the company, its employees and surrounding communities win,” said Juan Corujo, OPC general director.

OPC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ICTSI that manages, maintains, and operates a Specialized Container and Cargo Terminal in the Republic of Honduras.

It operates a significant port in Central America where containers loaded from there are allowed to arrive at US ports pre-checked and with a lower risk rate, and greater speed for dispatch.
