10-year-old boy found dead in QC creek


A 10-year-old boy was found dead in Culiat creek at the back of San Antonio Elementary School in Barangay Katipunan, Quezon City, on Sunday, Nov. 12.

Police identified that the minor victim as a Grade 4 student, a resident of Barangay 142, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City.

A certain Arnold Quezon, 33, found the body of the victim naked and floating in the creek at around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Quezon promptly reported the incident to the police officers conducting patrol in the area.

The QCPD said that the victim's mother, Michelle Alota dela Paz, went to the police station to give her statement regarding the incident.

According to her, she last saw her 10-year-old son on Nov. 11, around 1 p.m., playing with his friends.

Dela Paz said that around 7 p.m., she asked one of her son's friends about his whereabouts.

However, the child told her that did not know where the victim was.

One of the victim's friends confessed to Dela Paz that they went to Muñoz River to swim. However, the boy drowned.

The boy's mother and friends went to the CIDU office where they later identified the victim.
