Devastating blow: DepEd ‘immensely saddened’ by death of two learners in Taguig


The Department of Education (DepEd) on Saturday, Nov. 11, mourned the death of two learners in a public school in Taguig City and expressed commitment to assist in the ongoing probe.

“The loss of young lives is a devastating blow to any community,” DepEd said, noting that it is “immensely saddened” by the loss of two learners from Signal Village National High School (SVNHS).

“We express our deepest sympathies to the families,” DepEd said as it appealed to the public to “respect the privacy of the families during this tragic time.”

As reported, two female students of SVNHS were found dead inside the school premises on Nov. 10.

DepEd said it is committed to the “swift and expeditious conduct of the ongoing investigation” and expressed its full commitment to cooperate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Taguig regarding the matter.
