The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested 278 drug suspects and confiscated illegal drugs worth P5,164,508 in a series of buy-bust operations from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31.
The QCPD said that during the month-long operation, 16 police stations and other operating units of the QCPD carried out a total of 165 anti-drug stings.
These initiatives resulted in the confiscation of 735.41 grams of shabu, 1,341 grams of marijuana, and two grams of Kush, a high grade form of marijuana.
They stated that the Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) under the leadership of Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo had made significant contributions in the said operations.
They apprehended 26 drug suspects and seized illegal drugs worth P1,037,000.
In addition, the Anonas Police Station (PS 9) led by Lt. Col. Ferdinand Casiano arrested 18 suspects and confiscated P262,920 worth of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, the La Loma Police Station (PS 1) under the supervision of Lt. Romil Avenido also played a pivotal role in apprehending 29 drug suspects and confiscating illegal drugs worth P78,620.
Simultaneously, operatives from various police stations and units apprehended 195 drug suspects, leading to the confiscation of illegal drugs worth P3,785,968.
"The QCPD's unwavering dedication to eradicating illegal drugs is evident. Through relentless buy-bust operations like these, we persistently strive to protect the integrity of Quezon City and the well-being of its residents from the detrimental effects of dangerous drugs," QCPD chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said.
