Action cameras have power in them. They are tools capable of capturing some of the most unique moments in life. I mean, YouTube and TikTok are filled with content taken with GoPros.

The new GoPro Hero Black 12 is a smart refresh that adds a lot of cool new tricks to justify an upgrade.

From a design perspective, the Hero 12 Black has the same look and feel as any previous GoPro devices. It’s still easy to use with quick access to start recording videos, and has a plethora of accessories to adapt any situation.

The GoPro Hero 12 Black features a 27MP sensor with a focal length of 156 degrees. It’s very much capable of taking 27MP 8:7 photos, which is about 5568 x 4872 resolution. So you can definitely expect some really good images taken with the Hero 12. Strap it to a drone and you’re on to something awesome.

For videos, you might be delighted to know you are capable of capturing 4K videos with 120fps. That’s insane levels of content quality. There’s also HDR, so that brings nicer colors to your content.

One of the best new additions to the GoPro Hero 12 Black is that you can pair it with any bluetooth earphones. This way, you can easily check your videos or you can make your commentaries clearer and have more control over them.

You will also be able to capture audio in two channels. This would allow you to mix tracks during editing. It’s bringing out the filmmaker in anyone.

Autoboost and HyperSmooth 6 are features that give the Hero 12 one of the very best stabilizations we’ve seen. So if you fall down a hill, tumbling on hard rocks and all, you can be rest assured it would be the smoothest rolling down the hill you’ll ever capture. And it’ll be a video that is less headache inducing with the absence of the shaky cam.

There’s also a loop-lock feature, which means the GoPro will remain upright despite video going around and round. It should make for some interesting scenarios.

Lowlight has been improved, somewhat. GoPro gets some new Light Painting modes just to add a couple of flavor in the content you’re making.

Also one more thing that makes the GoPro Hero 12 Black a necessity in today’s content creation, is that you’re capable of making videos at 16:9 and 9:16 at the same time. This means, you can just make a couple of tweaks, less headaches, and choose to upload the video in either YouTube or TikTok that perfectly fits the screen. I don’t know about you guys, but I find this very useful.

Connectivity is a big thing too with the Hero 12, because with a USB-C you can connect the GoPro to an Android phone and transfer files. We’re going to need confirmation if this would work for the iPhone 15 series, or if it would work for Lightning-USB-C cables for older iPhone models.

The launch of the GoPro Hero 12 Black is coming just in time for the holidays, when people are getting ready to set out for their vacations. The newest GoPro device gets our big seal of approval and should be taken seriously by any adventurer out there.
