The business process outsourcing (BPO) industry had the most number of job vacancies in the country with more than 15,000 available jobs awaiting interested applicants, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
The DOLE said that a total of 15,144 job vacancies covering various positions in the BPO industry were available for those looking for an employment, citing data released by DOLE’s Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) from Sept. 25 to 29.
It added that a total of 4,170 vacancies for production machine operators and 3,202 job vacancies for executive assistants were also registered with the bureau.
The BLE noted that production workers were also in demand with 1,867 vacancies.
Also included in the top five job vacancies were domestic helpers with 1,397 available positions.
The BLE said the data was based on the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Employment Information System (PEIS) sourced nationwide and from PhilJobNet, a government-run job matching portal. (Trixee Rosel)
