Mayor Honey congratulates all BSKE winners in Manila

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan congratulated all the winners of the recently concluded Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), calling them to fulfill their mandate efficiently and wholeheartedly.

In a congratulatory message, she urged the re-elected and newly elected BSKE officials to “extend a hand of unity to their rivals” instead of using their victory to get back at them.

The mayor also called on those who did not make it to be a good sport and to accept the decision of the voters, and support their new barangay leaders.

"Isang araw lamang ang eleksyon kaya sana po ay mag-move on na tayong lahat at tanggapin ang hatol ng ating mga ka-barangay. Hangad kong makasama kayong lahat sa layuning lalo pang pasiglahin, pasayahin, pagandahin at lalo pang paunlarin ang ating minamahal na lungsod," she said.

Lacuna-Pangan also called on all the residents of Manila to work jointly toward a better and more progressive city, adding that politics should already be set aside.

The lady mayor lauded all candidates for taking the opportunity to offer themselves to be of service to their barangays.

She said public service does not end with elections, stressing that they can continue to provide help and serve as role models in their areas of residence as private citizens.

The mayor also asked the candidates to remove the campaign materials they posted to keep their barangays clean.

Meanwhile, Lacuna-Pangan thanked the Manila Police District (MPD) and all the city government units, including those who served in the polling precincts that contributed to keeping the barangay elections peaceful and orderly.

She said there were no reports of disruptions and violent incidents in Manila for the entire BSKE period.
