Angat Dam, Metro Manila’s potable water and energy supply source, has recorded an increase in its water levels, according to Maynilad Water Services, Inc.

In a statement, Maynilad reported that the Angat Dam reached 209.20 meters, which is 0.67 meter higher than last week’s record.

To compare, the dam leveled to 208.53 meters in the previous finding and is currently above the minimum operating level of 180 meters.

The current quantity of Angat is almost near the target elevation of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), which is expected to be around 210 meters to 212 meters by the end of the year.

Once the dam reaches its goal, Maynilad said it could help address the demand for water, especially during the El Niño season.

Meanwhile, the Ipo Dam, which is situated 7.5 kilometers downstream of Angat, remains on a 100.58-meter water level since last week.
