In a statement, DepEd emphasized that officials and personnel should not intervene directly or indirectly in any election campaign or engage in any partisan political activity except to vote.

Based on DepEd's data, it will deploy 494,662 teachers for the upcoming BSKE.

Out of this number, 382,793 will serve as Electoral Boards, while 25,196 will serve as DepEd Supervisor Officials (DESOs).

A total of 68,873 will serve as Barangay Board of Canvassers (BBOCs), and 17,800 will serve in other capacities such as substitutes, support staff, and poll clerks, as stated by DepEd.

Undersecretary for Operations Revsee Escobedo, who also serves as the chairman of the DepEd Election Task Force, said that DepEd will fulfill their poll duties as part of their commitment to safeguard and pave the way for all Filipino learners to a brighter future.

According to DepEd Memorandum No. 63 s. 2023, the department will provide adequate information and technical and legal assistance to teachers and non-teaching personnel during the performance of their duties on Oct. 30 through the establishment of the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election Task Force (BSK-ETF).
