Juami Tiongson is optimistic of the upcoming PBA 48th season as he sees arguably the most promising lineup for Terrafirma with the addition of a potent European import and rookies who can make an immediate impact led by top overall pick Stephen Holt.

The Terrafirma main man believed that this could be the season for the Dyip to get over the hump and break through the playoffs after spending much of the season on the cellar.

“Every year naman ang goal ko is try to make the playoffs kasi all throughout my stay with Terrafirma we always came close parang parati lang kami four wins,” said Tiongson during the PBA media day at One Esplanade in Pasay City on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

“Ang goal lang namin this time is to try to at least make it to six wins and then make it to the  quarterfinals and see what happens from there,” he added.

That might not really be too far to reach for the Dyip now.

Tiongson, who carried much of the load for Terrafirma last season averaging 18.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists, is expected to get the much needed help from their new players especially, Holt, who according to the high scoring guard, living up to the billing so far in the pre-season.

Aside from Holt, Terrafirma also now has Taylor Miller and Kemark Carino while Isaac Go is returning to his top form after fully recovering from a knee injury.

“I think yung new guys namin with Stephen Holt, with Miler, with Kemark Carino laking tulong. Especially Stephen Holt he may be a rookie pero very experience na sya internationally he knows what he can bring already. He’s very unselfish and supportive sa goals namin,” he added.

With a lineup brimming with potential, Tiongson is excited to see how his team would fare against some of the league’s powerhouses.

“Ngayon yung promising season namin with our new guys and with our import with Thomas kasi ang dali nila kasama ang babait nila so far sa practice games namin we’ve been winning we’ve been competing well so I'm really looking forward to this season,” he added.
