Mattress dominoes

A Philippine mattress manufacturer made an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest human mattress dominoes at the SMX, Mall of Asia on Sunday, Oct. 22.

Uratex Philippines' CEO and president Naty Cheng said they used 2,355 Classic Uratex Single (36 x 75) mattresses for the longest human mattress dominoes.

Cheng said the largest human mattress domino was previously recorded in Brazil and consisted of 2,019 people.

She said more than 4,000 employees of Uratex and volunteers from several charitable institutions helped form the mattress dominoes.

Cheng said Mai MCMillan from Guiness Record Japan will judge whether they were able to break the 20-minute human dominoes.

She added that aside from the attempt to break the record of Brazil, they also wanted to give fun and enjoyment to their employees as well as to the volunteers.

She said that the 2,355 mattresses used in the Guinness attempt will be donated to 55 orphanages and homes for the elderly.

“Teamwork is what made us last for 55 years, and by collectively striving to set a world record for the largest human mattress dominoes, each individual plays a crucial role in achieving this feat,” Eddie Gallor, Executive Vice President for Automotive said.

“And because Uratex is dedicated to giving back to various charitable causes, surpassing a Guinness World Record serves as a meaningful avenue towards making this philanthropic endeavor a reality,” he added.
