Finally, home: 87 distressed OFWs back in PH

A total of 87 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) arrived in the country from Saudi Arabia, most of them were reported to have run away from their employers.

Ronel Galvez, one of distressed OFWs, worked as a family driver for almost five years but decided to escape his employer who punched him.

Galvez expressed gratitude to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Arnell Ignacio for helping them go back to the Philippines.

The OFWs who arrived will be receiving a support package of benefits that includes financial assistance, medical check-up and referral services, as well as psychosocial evaluation and assessment.
