Letran head coach Rensy Bajar is hoping for a flash of resurgence after the Knights finally barged to the winning column following their 86-71 win over the San Sebastian Golden Stags in the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

With the pressure mounting on the shoulders of Letran after a 0-7 performance in the first round, Bajar could only wish for the good things to come after their breakthrough win.

“Actually, andoon yun eh, kasama lagi ang pressure kasi we’re defending champions, syempre bata itong mga players namin, kumbaga nasa rebuilding process kami,” Bajar stressed.

“Ando’n yung pressure na nararamdaman nila,” he added.

Bajar, who was appointed after the departure of Bonnie Tan, reiterated that his unit must enjoy the game instead of getting the burden each time they play on the court.

“Hopefully ito ‘yong magbigay sa’min ng lakas, at the same time, enjoyment this coming game namin against St. Benilde,” Bajar said.

Letran barged into the winning column despite the absence of skipper Kurt Reyson and the brief playing time of Paolo Javillonar.

Reyson, who is nursing a groin injury, is still doubtful for their final first round game against the Blazers on Sunday, Oct. 22.
