Growing a business takes a village —and this is proven true by Bánh Mì Kitchen as they recently opened their 100th branch at SM Seaside City Cebu last Oct. 12. They celebrated along with some of their partners and some personalities that have long been acquainted with the brand since it first opened its doors to the public in 2016.
Coming a long way from its first branch at SM Megamall, the brand has expanded beyond Luzon and Visayas, reaching Mindanao earlier this year with resounding success. And by any luck, the brand’s 100th branch to open was located in Cebu —their second home since this is the first city they ventured to outside of Luzon. From their first branch locally in SM City Cebu, they now proudly have 10 branches scattered throughout the city.
Bánh Mì Kitchen’s ties with Cebu and exclusive flavors over the years
The Cebu crowd loved the brand so much and in return, Bánh Mì Kitchen launched a few Cebu-exclusive bánh mìs and drinks over the years. One of these is the iconic Cebu Spicy Lechon Belly Bánh Mì in 2020, which later became a massive hit and was launched months after in Luzon because of high public demand.
After that, Chori Breakfast Bánh Mì brought comfort to early risers and brunch people. This was launched last year in partnership with the famous Ricky’s Chorizo de Cebu. Last but not least, our recent favorite is the Orange Karenderia Betsy’s Garlic Chicken Bánh Mì which surprisingly tasted so good that one full sandwich is not enough to satisfy cravings.
But Bánh Mì Kitchen doesn't just specialize in sandwiches. They're also the go-to spot for their Damn Strong Viet Iced Coffee, an all-time bestseller that gives customers that much-needed boost of caffeine to power through their day.
Expanding Vietnamese coffee options with the delectable egg coffee and refreshing coffee slush
Cebu, no doubt, has a special space in the heart of the brand. With this, it’s only fitting that the brand also launched its new coffee line in time with this celebration to make it even more special.
Guests invited got first dibs to enjoy the upcoming Vietnamese Egg Coffee, Matcha Egg Coffee, and Coconut Coffee Slush. Though these can raise some eyebrows at first look, these are all surprisingly delectable. Trust us, some of the guests were even happy to drink more than three full cups sitting.
The egg coffee features a smooth, sweet, and velvety egg cream that goes so well with the bold and intense flavor of the dripped Vietnamese coffee. This also comes in Matcha which easily appeals to the fans of this popular drink.
If you’re already sold with their egg coffee, wait until you hear about their Coconut Coffee Slush. Seemingly a typical ice-blended coffee at first but there’s more to it than what meets the eye. This drink is blended with delectable vanilla ice cream, coconut milk, and dripped coffee that can be a go-to during hot afternoons.
Having had a great month so far, Bánh Mì Kitchen will also be launching its revamped Ca Phe concept in SM Center Pasig before October ends. Soon, the new coffee lines will also be rolled out and available in other Ca Phe branches nationwide.
