Rex Orange County pens sweet message to his Pinoy fans: 'This is a dream come true for me, I love you all so much'

Making his debut concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last Oct. 8, English singer-songwriter Rex Orange County, whose real name is Alexander James O'Connor, did not disappoint his Filipino fans.

After postponing his concert in 2020 due to the pandemic, Rex made sure to make the show memorable to make up for his fans, and honestly speaking, he lived up to the expectations.

Before heading up to the stage, Filipino-Australian singer, Grent Perez made a homecoming appearance as the opening act, where he performed some of his songs, including "Confusing Girl," "Cherry Wine," "Ego," "My Heart It Beats for You", and "Old With You'.

The Big Dome shines with lightsticks, and the fans bought a sunflower to commemorate the event. Several celebrities, including Elijah Canlas, Miles Ocampo, and Sparkle artist Radson Flores, were also present during the concert.

Rex came out on stage to greet 10,000 Pinoy fans excited to watch him perform. He then opened the show with his song, "Television/ So Far so Good," from his album "Apricot Princess."

He then followed his performance with "10/10," "Amazing," and "Sunflower," to which a fan handed him a hand-drawn portrait of himself.

Before signing another fan-favorite song, Rex took his time to thank all his fans for coming to the show and saying it has always been his dream to perform in Manila. "This is a dream come true for me. I love you all so much.''

The concert continued as he performed "The Shade," "Happiness," "Never Enough," and "Keep It Up." At one point in the show, he asked the fans to put down their phones as he sang the bridge of the song "Best Friend."

Rex went on with "Loving is Easy," "It's Not The Same Anymore," and did a surprise encore of the song "Pluto Projector."
