Thousands of people attended the 45th anniversary celebration of Jesus Is Lord (JIL) in Luneta, Manila on Saturday, Oct. 14.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), it deployed 140 policemen to secure safety around the area.

Manila police said the number of people continued accumulating until 7 p.m.

Both lanes of Roxas Boulevard were closed to lessen traffic congestion near the area.

With its anniversary theme “Revival: Urgent Call to Action," JIL gathered more than 500,000 members with 400 pastors of various Christian movements during the event.

More or less 2,000 members of choir and dance groups also performed.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Senate and House of Representatives both issued a resolution congratulating and commending the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide for its 45 remarkable years of successful transformational ministry in the country and in 70 nations all over the world.
