The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) and the Angono, Rizal Police signed a Peace Covenant and Oath of Integrity Pledge with Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) candidates of Angono for the upcoming 2023 BSKE.

The Rizal PPO, led by PCol. Rainerio De Chavez who was represented by PLt.Col. Roderick Tonga, spearheaded the ceremony held at Plaza Rizal in Brgy. San Isidro, Angono, Rizal. They were joined by Angono Municipal Police OIC PMaj. Lauro Moratillo, representatives from the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), religious groups, and other government agencies.
As part of the actions and preparations to guarantee a peaceful, orderly, and honest BSKE next month, candidates were briefed regarding to the Comelec rules and regulations as well as the election guidelines.
The Rizal PPO said it supports this endeavor which aims to promote a peaceful and orderly conduct of the election as well as the candidates' commitment to respect the rule of law and uphold the democratic process.
"The election will take place in October, but as early as now, the spirit of camaraderie and unity is being instilled in our candidates to ensure the conduct of a fair, safe, and clean BSKE 2023," Comelec Angono Officer Frendy Del Rosario stressed.
The Rizal PPO also conducted peace covenant signings with BSKE candidates in Jalajala and Rodriguez, Rizal.
A total of 8,565 BSKE candidates formally filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) from Aug. 28 to Sept. 2.
The office of Atty. Arnulfo Pioquinto, provincial election supervisor of Comelec in Rizal, said that out of the number of filers, 575 individuals filed their COCs as barangay chairman.
There are 4,350 individuals who are aspiring to become members of the Sangguniang Barangay, known as kagawads.
For the youth polls, 496 aspirants have made their intention to run for public office. A total of 3,144 SK kagawads also filed their COCs before their respective local election offices in the city or municipality where they reside or intend to run.
