The drum and lyre team snatched four group awards – Champion, Concert Percussion; third place, Best in Music; third place, Best in Visual Effect, and third place, drumline.

They also bagged three major awards in the solo category: Second place, percussion (solo snare), Matteo Zarsuela; second place, percussion (solo multi-tom), Zairus Robhert Gliane; and third place, percussion (solo marimba), Gene Caleb Noche.

Team Lucena West 1 Philippines and Lucena West 1 Drum and Lyre Corps bandmaster Alfred Orbe said that the drum and lyre corps originated in the Philippines as an economical alternative to regular brass bands or a drum and bugle corps.

Orbe added the instrumentation of a drum and lyre corps consists of a typical marching band (snare, tenor, bass drums, and cymbals) with the bell lyre section. The lyre sections consist of bell lyres, glockenspiels, as well as vibraphones.

A drum and lyre band is a marching ensemble consisting of strictly percussion instruments and a color guard section.
